Today, Esporão acts as an ambassador for Portuguese culture, operating within the bounds of sustainability and forging meaningful relationships with customers and consumers worldwide.

Esporão’s extra virgin olive oil production began in 1997, driven by a desire to apply the expertise gained in winemaking to the production of high-quality oils. Esporão currently has over 100 hectares of olive groves, with four different varieties of olives, cultivated using organic production methods.

In addition to its own production, Esporão works with over 60 local olive growers to preserve the native varieties and traditional olive groves of the Alentejo region.
