In the province of Badajoz, specifically in the region of La Serena, lies the Protected Designation of Origin "Monterrubio", which certifies extra virgin olive oils made from the Cornezuelo and Jabata varieties. These are almond-flavored oils with great stability. Other high-quality olive oil producing areas in the province include Tierra de Barros, Vegas del Guadiana, La Siberia, and Jerez-Llerena.
