Salt crystals of great purity thanks to the origin and natural evaporation of the raw material. The brine emerges from underground seams of solid salt over 200 million years old. Rich in minerals and trace elements, it is recommended for enhancing the flavour of all types of food.
Liquid mineral spring salt is naturally concentrated to 280 grams of salt per litre. Special for seasoning salads and for use on meat and fish before cooking.
One of the main economic drivers of the del Valle Salado is the production of salt of the highest quality. Given the characteristics and unique character of the landscape, the salt industry aims to produce a natural, ecological, high-quality salt that rivals the best traditional salt mines on the market. This is why Añana salt is considered one of the best in the world.
The Valle Salado in the town of Salinas de Añana, in Alava, Basque Country, is an unusual landscape in the process of recovery, made up of thousands of platforms or threshing floors, canals, wells and warehouses. Añana salt is the result of the natural evaporation of brine from springs, and its crystallization is the fruit of three factors: the sun, the wind and the traditional techniques of the salt-makers.
