Sal de Añana spring salt is a salt of great purity produced by natural evaporation giving rise to salt crystals from a brine made from solid salt from seams more than 200 million years old.
It is a natural salt rich in minerals and other compounds that enhance the flavour of any type of food.
The Añana salt mines are one of the oldest salt mines in the world; it can be said that the Añana salt mine has been producing salt uninterruptedly for more than 6,500 years. Since Roman times, Añana salt has been extracted using the evaporation method. The salt of Añana comes from springs that reach the surface in a natural way and with a degree of salinity of 210 grams per litre.
