Early-harvest, cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil produced in Begíjar (Jaén) using green olives of the Picual variety, carefully selected and harvested in early October.
Esencial Olive Picual embodies the ultimate freshness and purity of the early harvest. An extra virgin olive oil that is impressive in every way: sight, smell and taste.
Green in colour, on the nose it offers intense fruitiness with fresh green undertones and notes of freshly cut grass, olive leaf, green olive, tomato plant and artichoke. Hints of green apple, banana peel and almond are also apparent. On the palate, it is balanced and elegant. The bitterness is light and the pungency is mild, leaving a fruity and slightly vegetal aftertaste.
Serving suggestions: This extra virgin olive oil is perfect for enjoying raw on fish, red meat, salads, bread, grilled vegetables or in cold soups and creams such as gazpacho or salmorejo.
The quality of Esencial Olive Picual has been recognised in several of the most prestigious competitions in the olive oil sector. This single-variety oil has won the Mario Solinas First Prize and the First Prize at IberOleum, and has also been recognised at Jaén Selección, Flos Olei and Expoliva.

Founded in 1927, Oleícola San Francisco has managed to preserve its identity in the La Loma region throughout its history, adapting to changing times whilst remaining steadfast in its commitment to serving its farmers.
In 1989, it was acquired by Manolo Rus and José Jiménez, who launched a family project full of enthusiasm, planting a seed in everyone’s hearts called extra virgin olive oil, which has become a passion and a way of experiencing the land and culture of Jaén.
Their centuries-old olive trees are situated in prime locations in the Guadalquivir Valley. Nature provides the finest fruit every year; it simply needs to be cared for and nurtured to produce extra virgin olive oil of exceptional quality.
Building on its original construction from 1927, Oleícola San Francisco has successfully adapted to the future with modern, versatile and efficient facilities. They have sought to preserve the essence of the old building within a modern 21st-century oil mill.
The old cellar and the press room now serve as the entrance to a state-of-the-art processing area, modern and equipped with the latest technologies in the sector. In just 20 metres, we can take a journey through the history of olive oil, from what it was to what it is today.
Oleícola San Francisco passes all the necessary legal inspections every year to maintain its certification as an organic producer.
