List of products by brand Agrícola i Secció de Crèdit de Cabacés SCCL

The Cooperativa de Cabacés was founded in 1933 by 51 local farmers under the name Sindicato Agrícola de Cabacés, with the aim of jointly processing and marketing their agricultural produce.

Focused on quality: the board of directors, elected by the cooperative’s members, issued guidelines on processing and harvesting methods. If the standards were not met or olives were brought in poor condition, they could be rejected.

In 2003, after 70 years of operation, they began producing organic extra virgin olive oil. That same year, legislation changed and the name was altered to Agrícola i Secció de Crèdit de Cabacés SCCL.

A significant investment was also made to improve quality, including a new traceability system, a record of the phytosanitary treatments applied to the trees, and new regulations for the delivery of olives to the mill, ensuring they arrived in better condition, well-ventilated, and preventing them from being crushed or fermenting before being pressed. All the pipes, hoppers and tanks were replaced, all made of stainless steel to ensure the highest quality.

The results of the improvements to the production processes were immediate: Baronia de Cabacés extra virgin olive oil began to receive awards at local, national and international levels.

In 2015, three tanks that were previously used to store wine were refurbished so that they could be used to store extra virgin olive oil, and in 2018, stainless steel tanks were purchased to accommodate a larger volume. This made it possible to store more oil and avoid having to sell high-quality oil in bulk due to a lack of storage capacity.

In 2016, an initial upgrade of machinery was carried out to increase production capacity, and in 2021, following an exceptional harvest in 2020, a decanter was replaced to further increase production capacity.
