Arbequina extra virgin olive oil from Canena (Jaén) harvested on the first day of the harvest. It is perfect for those who appreciate the exclusivity of limited editions.
It is characterised by its intense green colour and is ideal for lovers of intense flavours, as this extra virgin olive oil is an explosion of flavour and freshness. On the nose, it presents a medium intense fruity green olive, with complementary aromas that remind us of alloza, walnut shell, apple, peach and quince mixed with light herbaceous touches.
It is very pleasant and smooth on the palate, with a predominance of the freshness of grass, nutshell, green almond and green banana compote with the sweetness of red apple. It is a very harmonious and elegant oil in its aftertaste, with a very balanced bitterness and spiciness that is not at all persistent.
Serving suggestions: First Day of Harvest Arbequina extra virgin olive oil is ideal for cooking fish, vinaigrettes and mayonnaise, as well as for baking cakes and pastry creams, as it is the perfect substitute for butter.

Castillo de Canena is a distinct and unique company, as it is involved in the whole process of creating extra virgin oils, from the trees and the land to its commercialization. Our olive groves are carefully supervised and cared for in their different annual agricultural tasks. Our olives are selected at the optimum moment for their collection by hand, and be respectfully transferred to our mill. This guarantees the quality of flavors and aromas, supported by facilities already in the process of ISO 22,000 certification.
More than 75 people make up our team; managers, field experts, farmers, masters of oil mills, quality controllers and processes in the mill, economists, management and administration personnel, commercial executives, etc.
