DESCRIPCTION:
Sivaris wild rice is a long-grain brown rice rich in fibre, protein and lysine, ideal for accompanying meat and fish dishes or in salads.
It is an aquatic seed, known as water oats, which is also very rich in fibre, protein and lysine. It can withstand freezing and pasteurisation while retaining its optimal quality. When fried at high temperatures, it produces a texture similar to popcorn.
This seed comes from an aquatic plant called ‘water oats’ or ‘Indian rice’, which grows naturally in the marshes of North America. The Amerindians considered it a sacred fruit.
Wild rice must be boiled in excess water and cooked to perfection, ‘al dente’, which takes around 20 minutes. To fry successfully, use very hot oil and remove the grains from the heat as soon as they open.
