Picual extra virgin olive oil is described as green, clean and fragrant, with hints of cereals and vegetables. Flavours include ripe tomatoes, artichokes and barley. On the palate, it is balanced and long-lasting.
Picual is very common in Jaén, Spain, and is one of the country's most popular varieties. It is appreciated for its bitter, fiery notes, making it ideal for eating raw if you prefer an intense olive flavour.
Blending the olive varieties is a complex and unique process carried out by the Marqués de Viana Palace, which strives for elegant and refined flavours. The bottle of this oil reflects the aesthetics of the palace and its majestic ceilings.
This olive oil is recommended for dishes such as salads, vegetable creams, meat carpaccios, barbecues, mature cheeses, anchovies, smoked meats and cold meats.
We are a family-run business that, generation after generation, since the 18th century, has been dedicated to producing the highest quality extra-virgin olive oil. We are totally dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in the process of making our olive juices, from the cultivation and care of the olive trees to the crushing of the olives and the preservation and marketing of our top-quality extra virgin olive oil.
Our olive grove is located in the Guadalquivir valley, in the province of Jaén (Andalusia, Spain), where the olive trees grow in a very special environment, surrounded by the Cazorla and Sierra Mágina natural parks, and irrigated by the 8-kilometer Guadiana Menor river that runs through our estate.
