In 1885, Jules Destrooper opened a bakery in the province of West Flanders (Belgium), where he also sold exotic products. Using spices from his own shop, he succeeded in making fine biscuits which he called ‘Almond Thins’ and offered as promotional gifts. Soon the biscuits became so popular...
