Unknown to many, capers are nevertheless widely used in the preparation of typical Mediterranean dishes. They add a very special touch to any dish in which they are included, whether in salads, as a garnish or in tapas.
They are the fruit of the caper plant, which grows in Mediterranean forests and produces different varieties depending on the climatic conditions. Olmeda Orígenes capers have a small fruit with a pronounced curved stalk. They are pickled and preserved in salt and vinegar for some time, which gives them a slightly spicy and bitter flavour. They are used as an appetiser or in the preparation of sauces and rice dishes.
